Issues and Concerns
TASCOE Vice President
I hope everyone is well; it has been a week since the conference call on the office closures and combinations.
When I arrived at my desk and read the email I was as surprised as everyone else was to the news. After reading the email from Bruce Nelson and reviewing the States which were affected , seeing Arkansas and Tennessee having the most to close I felt what next. Then to receive an email from the STO with a conference call for everyone to participate, I knew here it comes.
I appreciate how our SED and AO handled the conference call, delivering the news and answering questions best they could keeping us as up to date as they were.
TASCOE had already planned to join NASCOE with a Legislative Conference in Washington DC February 6-8, 2012. Your TASCOE Officers will be together and I’m sure we’ll have much discussion on this and other issues.
We are your voice, so if you have any issues and or concerns let your Officers know. Randy, Lisa and I will help however we can.

Secretary Report - 2011
Here’s hoping you and your family had a blessed Christmas and New Year’s holiday together! What a changing work environment we have been living through. Many co-workers and close friends have made the decision to retire and enjoy life in the past few months. Best wishes to all the newly retirees! Live and cherish each day to the fullest, after all you have definitely earned it!
Fellow co-workers please help TASCOE keep your retirees informed and involved in our organization. When we prepare our membership transmittal annually please contact these individuals so they can remain active in our association. Associate membership is $35 annually and due July 1st of each year. For our business meetings and conventions, please help me ensure they receive the dates and registration information. Hopefully, most of them can participate and visit our new TASCOE website on a regular basis to be informed and included in all activities. I thank you in advance for this assistance.
We work for a great group of individuals – the Farmer - and we are dedicated public servants! Thank you members, fellow officers, committee members/chairpersons and Shirley Redfearn for all your support and hard work with our organization. I could never do this job alone and we have a great group of folks that work tirelessly to ensure our job security, employee benefits and enable us to continue dedicated service to the farmers we represent.
Respectfully submitted:

The Tennessee Association of Farm Service Agency County Office Employees (TASCOE) is an organization that represents the county level employees of the Farm Service Agency (FSA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This professional association represents the Interests of all county office employees of the FSA, regardless of membership.
NASCOE extends a special Invitation
for you to join a fine Organization
What is NASCOE?
In 1958 county office employees organized state associations to work for employee benefits. In early 1959, the State Associations formed the National Association of County Office Employees. NASCOE is the national affiliate of the various state associations. A Board of Directors composed of two members from each state governs it. An executive committee is the executive arm of the Board of Directors. Dues are nominal and are paid through an individuals state association.
Our objectives are to assist in every way possible to assure successful operation of FSA and the attainment of FSAs objectives, to cooperate with other groups and organizations, to conserve and improve our soil resources, to secure equitable salaries, working conditions, and retirement provisions for all FSA county office employees and to promote the professionalism of our employees.
Since 1962, NASCOE has been granted exclusive recognition to represent full-time county office employees in negotiation with management on terms of employment and working conditions.
